Generative AI is one of those topics that feels both exciting and overwhelming, like assembling IKEA furniture without instructions. But don’t worry; we’ll get through this together—minus the missing Allen wrench.
Generative AI tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E can revolutionize your business, helping automate tasks, improve customer experiences, and drive innovation. However, adopting this technology responsibly means addressing risks like data security, intellectual property concerns, and compliance issues. So let’s unpack the do’s and don’ts, and don’t forget to grab the check sheet at the end to keep everyone—business and IT alike—on the same page.

But, like letting your toddler loose with a marker, AI needs guardrails. Without oversight, it can lead to issues like biased outputs, data mishandling, or worse—accidentally outsourcing your secrets to the cloud.
Start by asking, “What problem are we solving?” (Hint: The answer is not “We need AI because everyone else has it.”) Define goals such as:
